- Nuro - An Efficient and Sustainable Delivery System by Former Google Engineers
Nuro
Nuro was founded in 2016 by two former Google engineers with a vision to create a more efficient and sustainable delivery system. They developed a unique, low-speed autonomous vehicle that is specifically designed to navigate through neighbourhoods and deliver goods safely and efficiently.
Key Features:
- Autonomous Technology: Nuro's vehicles are fully autonomous, allowing for safe and efficient deliveries without human intervention.
- Customizable Delivery: Nuro offers flexible delivery options, including same-day and scheduled deliveries, and customers can track their orders in real time.
- Efficient Design: The small and lightweight design of Nuro's vehicles reduces their environmental impact and makes them well-suited for urban and suburban areas.
- Safety First: Nuro prioritizes safety, both for its passengers and for the people and communities it serves. Its vehicles have advanced sensors, cameras, and other safety features.
How it Works:
Nuro's vehicles operate on pre-mapped routes, using a combination of cameras, sensors, and software to navigate the roads and avoid obstacles. When a delivery is requested, the vehicle travels to the pickup location, loads the goods, and then drives to the customer's address. Customers can track their deliveries in real time using the Nuro app and receive notifications when the vehicle arrives. When the delivery is complete, the customer retrieves the goods from the vehicle's secure compartments.
